Tawna Purcell, DVM, CVA

Originally from the Northern California redwood coast, Dr. Tawna Purcell has worked in both private practice and academia as well as owned two mobile acupuncture/relief veterinary practices. After graduating from Colorado State University's School of Veterinary Medicine in May 2007, she completed an internship where the students voted her for the Outstanding Large Animal Intern award.

Dr. Purcell completed her certification in veterinary acupuncture through the Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians (MAV) course in Ft. Collins, CO in 2008.

Dr. Purcell is happy to be in her husband's home area, their now forever home of Charlottesville, VA. She resides with her husband, daughter and son as well as her furry family; 2 Great did we say Great Danes, a lovable mixed-breed "desert dog," her elderly sweetheart of a horse, a recluse Russian tortoise and two cats.  She loves to spend her free time with family and friends, gardening, taking pictures and being outside in just about any capacity.
